AFRICAN AMERICAN DIASPORA

As part of Black History Month we will offer activities and
tours in honor of African American history. Kids will get a
chance to design their own kente t-shirts as part of their craft
activity.

A very special subject is the history of women in Miami,
and it is particularly meaningful this month as we celebrate "herstory." We will recognize local women whose extraordinary
vision and work continues to inspire Floridians.

Join eco-historian Frank Schena in an environmental history
gallery walk and learn about endangered animals in Florida
while making framed sand art.

With the use of our in-house Latin American map collection
you will learn about the Asian influence in our community.
Kids will learn about geography, make Asian kites and
participate in our interactive map program.

The history of the Caribbean is rich with adventurous
tales, blended cultures, and natural diversity. Join us as we
explore the ever-changing culture of the Caribbean islands
throughout the years.
